Karon is longer than its name suggests
Accommodation near the northern beachfront, Karon Circle or the Kata end creates different handover and driving plans. Send the full address before delivery; the district name alone is not precise enough for an efficient meeting point.
For a day spent at the beach beside the hotel, leave the vehicle in an agreed space. Before an evening trip, check where parking is permitted instead of assuming any open kerbside space is suitable.
Build southern days without doubling back
Kata and Kata Noi combine naturally with southern viewpoints. Use another loop for Chalong, Rawai and Nai Harn. Grouping stops by direction reduces repeated drives over the same hills.
Patong, Kamala and the northern west coast work better as a separate day. The time of travel can matter more than the distance, particularly on the evening return.
A vehicle that stays easy to live with
A couple or small family with ordinary bags may prefer a compact car. Seven seats are a group requirement, not a Karon requirement. A crossover earns its cost when there is bulky equipment, child gear or regular long-distance driving.
Test the air conditioning and luggage arrangement at collection. Do not wait until a full-day trip to discover that the cabin layout is inconvenient.
