Documents to arrange before departure
Carry the original national driving licence, an International Driving Permit when required and your passport. Do not assume a photograph or mobile application replaces the originals unless that has been expressly confirmed for the specific process.
Thailand Rent-a-Car publishes a minimum age of 21 and at least three years of driving experience; a Young Driver option may adjust some eligibility terms. Final approval depends on the driver's documents and the selected vehicle.

Receiving a car does not guarantee that every authority or insurer will view an incomplete document set in the same way. A roadside check or insurance claim can involve Thai requirements as well as the conditions of the selected coverage.
Every person who may drive should be disclosed and approved in the agreement. Allowing an unlisted driver to take the wheel can affect liability and insurance protection.
Agreement details to verify
Check the Latin spelling of the name, licence number, rental period, vehicle, deposit option, permitted region and coverage exclusions. Correct any discrepancy before leaving the handover point.
